Type E is Electric Resistance Welded (ERW), formed from skelp and welded longitudinally. Type F is furnace-welded, though less common today. The material is offered in Grade A, Grade B, and a Grade B with supplementary requirements for enhanced testing. Grade B is the most widely used, providing higher tensile and yield strength than Grade A, making it suitable for more demanding structural supports, fencing, handrails, and low to medium-pressure fluid systems.
